VOILÀ and Chrissy Costanza– Racket NYC in New York, NY October 9th

VOILÀ and Chrissy Costanza brought the Spin the Bottle tour to Racket NYC in New York, NY on Wednesday, October 9th. The nearly sold-out crowd packed the venue for a fun night filled with pop-rock and pop-punk music.

The evening kicked off with a short set from up-and-coming rocker Ally Nicholas. Her performance included the single “Bored,” a few unreleased songs, and a cover of Smashing Pumpkins’ “Today.” Ally closed her set with her biggest singles, “Seventeen” and “All Summer Long.”

Before VOILÀ (the LA-based pop-rock band made up of actor/model Luke Eisner and singer Gus Ross) and Chrissy (lead singer of Against the Current) took the stage, the crowd was treated to a mini-Emo Night style pump-up featuring tracks from Panic! at the Disco, All-American Rejects, My Chemical Romance, and more.

The lights then began to dim, and you could feel the crowd’s energy swell as VOILÀ and Chrissy Costanza took the stage and performed their song “Caught It”. The night was extra special as Chrissy had just dropped her debut solo album, VII, produced and co-written by VOILÀ, that morning. The show was a beautiful blend of both VOILÀ and Chrissy’s music, performed both separately and together. Throughout the night, Gus and Chrissy switched off singing while the drummer and Luke remained on stage for the entire set.

VOILÀ began with three songs, including “Drinking with Cupid.” Chrissy then returned to the stage for four songs, including “Wildfire.” Over the course of the night, VOILÀ also played “Something Blue,” “Cursive,” and “Therapy.” Chrissy sang “If Looks Could Kill,” “Pick Your Poison,” “Perfect Crime,” and “Phoenix.” She also performed a giant cover mashup of some of her personal favorite songs, including “Landslide,” “The Middle,” and “A Whole New World.” The crowd was treated to over 30 songs by the end of the evening.

The night closed out with some of both acts’ biggest hits and a final collaboration. VOILÀ put on a killer performance of “Figure You Out,” while Chrissy blew the roof off the venue with “Legends Never Die” (punctuated by her signature backbend). Together, they ended with their collab “7 Minutes in Hell” from Chrissy Costanza’s newly released album.
