The Gipsy Kings featuring Tonino Baliardo is a specialized touring and recording iteration of the legendary French-born flamenco-pop group, fronted by its co-founder and virtuoso lead guitarist. Originating from Arles, France, the collective famously blended traditional Andalusian flamenco rumba with modern pop, jazz, and Latin rhythms. As a principal songwriter, Tonino Baliardo composed the band’s most iconic global hits, including “Bamboléo” and “Djobi Djoba”. Awarded 15 gold, platinum, and diamond discs worldwide, they’ve sold over 25 million albums and have accumulated of over 2 billion global streams. Their 1995 compilation, The Best of the Gipsy Kings, spent over a year on the charts and achieved platinum status. The Gipsy Kings won a Grammy Award in 2013 in the Best World Music category for the album “Savor Flamenco” and have also collaborated on the films “The Big Lebowski” by remixing “Hotel California”, and on “Toy Story III” with “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”.
