What happens when you have Dennis Diken, Jim Babjak, and Mike Mesaros, and you add Marshall Crenshaw to the mix? You have The Smithereens. When lead singer Pat DiNizio passed away late last year, the band and fans around the world were heartbroken. The band and Pat were very much loved. Add Marshall to the mix and they are back on the road, WOWING fans. Tonight at The Iridium in NYC, they did just that.
I started shooting the Smithereens in the early 80’s and met Pat for 2 minutes in 1986. 3 years later, he remembered me. The rest of the band is just like that-their memory is amazing.
With a mix of their classic hits such as “Bed of Roses<” “A Girl Like You,” “Only A Memory” and others, the band thrilled the audience. GO see them-it’s a mix of old and new Smithereens songs, a few covers, and the most KICK ASS instrumental by Jim, Dennis and Mike that will make you jump out of your seat, feeling as if you were 22 again.

Marshall Crenshaw is practically a regular here in Bordentown at Randy’s Man Cave.
