Willie Nile

Willie Nile owned the stage on a Saturday night in his hometown of Buffalo, New York. With a great start to the night from opener James Maddock, Willie led his band through a fantastic set that left the audience wanting more after the lights finally came up.

Nearly 40 years after releasing his debut album, he continues to write fantastic songs while maintaining a tremendous energy level on stage. Deftly switching between singer-songwriter on solo piano to wading through the audience or trying to avoid leaping bass players (tip of the cap to Johnny Pisano), Willie is the complete showman.

I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Willie, Johnny, Matt Hogan (guitar) and Jon Webber (drums) tell the story almost as well without the audio.
