Nu Music Night
20 Nov 2018
Nu Music Night at the ‘Shoe has been a cover-free staple of the legendary club for many of the seven-plus decades of its existence. A laundry-list of famous acts cut their teeth on the historic stage over the years. After gaining fame, many of them still return for electrifying underplays or residencies in the 500-person club. Stompin’ Tom, Blue Rodeo, and Joel Plaskett will be familiar to Canadian fans; Wilco, Frank Turner, and The Stones might be recognizable names to international music lovers.
This week’s acts featured good musicianship and stage presence that, combined with a lot of hard work and some luck, could bode well for them in the future.
