What happens when you get a bunch of talented musicians together for a night to jam? You get a great night of music.
At the Trails End Saloon in Oregon City, Oregon every Sunday, this is exactly what you will find. It is a place very reminisce of The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ with the same caliber of musicians. On any given Sunday in the 80’s when I was a regular, you never knew who would take the stage but you always knew it would be a great night.
The Sunday Jams with Robbie Laws and the Junior Jams is a great way to spend an evening. Robbie Laws voice and guitar playing will blow you away. With Marty Henniger on drums and Jim Solberg on bass, this trio’s sound will have you up and dancing and screaming for more. Others joining in on the jam were Paul Johnson on guitar and Dan Hess on guitar.
Joining in on a few songs was 19 year old Carson Ceresa, a self taught guitar player who has only been playing for 2 years. This night was only his second time performing on stage and he was a pro. He told me after the performance that he was nervous but it did not show-he was as intense as his guitar playing. Remember his name-Carson Ceresa!
24 year old Nick Rothenberger sat in on drums and he plays as if he has been performing for decades older than he is.
The atmosphere at the Trails End Saloon is great and it is a place that feels like…HOME!
