Santana and the Counting Crows “Oneness Tour 2024” arrived on Friday, July 19, 2024 to a packed house at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ.
The Counting Crows, an American rock band formed in 1991 hailing from California, opened the show as the sun was going down and delivered a strong performance with their signature blend of introspective lyrics and rich instrumentation. Adam Duritz’s lead vocals conveyed the raw emotion the fans expected and sounded just as remembered. Throughout the night, fans were on their feet, waving arms in the air and singing along to many of the songs.

Grammy Award winning and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Carlos Santana is an American guitarist best known for pioneering a fusion of rock and roll and Latin American jazz rising to fame in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Despite dealing with back sciatica and performing seated at times for the show due to his condition, Santana showed that his energy and musical prowess remains undiminished continuing to deliver a powerful show. The set can be described as masterful and spans his career, with his guitar expertise on full display. The 15-song set included covers such as “Black Magic Woman” (Fleetwood Mac), “Evil Ways” (Willie Bobo) and other songs “The Game of Love”, “Put Your Lights On”, “Maria Maria”, “Smooth” and many more.
The performance also included a mix of instrumental pieces and well-known hits, creating an electrifying atmosphere that captivated the crowd. His band, featured talented musicians and vocalists, added depth to the performance. The inclusion of tribal rhythms and visuals added a unique and immersive element to the show, further enhancing the experience.
