Rhett Miller -Horseshoe Tavern
Rhett Miller of Old 97’s delivered a 90+ minute set at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern, much to the delight of the warm crowd who ventured out on a cold evening in Toronto. Rhett told stories about how much he enjoyed playing at the ‘Shoe (and Canada in general, including regret for not playing here more often).
I’ve seen the full band a handful of times over the last 20 years and they’ve never disappointed me.
Rhett, alone with a guitar and his engaging stories (my fave involved Canadian singer Michael Bublé), was just as good even without his long-time bandmates.
I’ll happily trek out in the cold any time to see Rhett; with or without the full band it’s a great show.
