Rev. Horton Heat-City Winery – Chicago

City Winery in Chicago was the place to be, where Reverend Horton Heat preached his particular style of Rockabilly to a capacity crowd. The usual arrangement of tables was reconfigured to give his fans a bit of space to dance. We don’t see that happening all that often at this venue. Jimbo Wallace on his upright bass and drummer Jonathan Jeter compliment Jim Heath’s guitar playing so well! The ninety minute set included some old favorites as well as new material from their latest release. That said, they barely scratched the surface of the extensive library.
Opening for the Reverend were Las Vegas rockers The Delta Bombers. These guys did an amazing job of warming up the crowd. Can’t imagine why I’ve never seen hem before but they are now on my follow list!
