Beauty and the Beast!

There is no better way to watch an artist than in a small intimate setting.  Sony Hall was the perfect environment to watch Orianthi showcase her craft. This was only night 2 of the tour and her band did not miss a beat.  Her voice sounded soft and sweet as well as strong and crisp when needed on songs like ‘Light It Up’.

To watch such an amazing guitarist, singer and songwriter up close was something that I can only define as captivating.   You can’t help but stare as she makes everything look so easy with a touch of style and grace.

Orianthi and bassist Justin Andres harmonizes were a perfect blend with Demian Arriaga on drums and Derek Cruz on keyboards for parts of the 15 song set that included opener ‘You Don’t Wanna Know’ , ‘Sinners Hymm’ , ‘Heaven In This Hell’ and a heart melting version of  ‘How Do You Sleep’ showcasing her love for the Blues.   Midway thru the set  Orianthi and Justin Andres performed an acoustic 3 song set including a beautiful version of  ‘Where Did Your Heart Go’

The night was filled with original music and a few cover songs that included Santana’s ‘Europa/Soul Sacrifice’, ZZ Top’s ‘Sharp Dressed Man’ , Bo Diddley’s ‘Before You Accuse Me’ and BB King’s Never Make Your Move To Soon’.

The show concluded with her first hit ‘According To You’ and an incredible version of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Voodoo Child’ with blistering guitar that truly reminded everyone why Orianthi is a master of her craft- An absolute Guitar Queen.
