Holler on the Hill

Now a yearly tradition in Indianapolis, “Holler on the Hill” Music Festival is held for two days in September, on the grounds of beautiful Garfield Park in Indianapolis, Indiana.  “Holler” is an extremely laid back atmosphere, with an incredible lineup of extremely talented musical artists, with this years event having 24 acts all together.  The festival also includes a variety of food vendors and artisans.
This year, I had the honor of photographing 10 of the 12 artists that performed on day two of the festival.  Nothing short of amazing.  While I was extremely impressed and loved all the acts, I did have some personal favorites.  Patrick Sweaney of Nashville, Black Joe Lewis of Austin, Texas and Brent Cowles of Colorado are at the top of my list.  I also had the pleasure of photographing Motherfolk, Red Wanting Blue, Erin Rae, John Moreland, The Wild Reeds, Left Lane Cruiser and Nikki Lane on Sunday.
If you’ve never attended “Holler on the Hill” in Indianapolis and love great music in a laid back outdoor atmosphere, I personally recommend going.  One day, or make a weekend of it.  Even if you don’t think the music is in your genre, you might be pleasantly surprised!
