Ally the Piper Live at Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore, PA, Wednesday June 24, 2026
Ally the Piper, who started out in the pandemic posting videos of herself on Instagram playing the bagpipes, covers of rock songs, took to the stage with a fierce fire in her heart and eyes ready to enthrall the at capacity crowd at the Ardmore Music Hall on Wednesday night. This was Ally’s 3rdperformance at the venue, and the crowd was not disappointed. With Dominic Marraffa on Drums, Ian Ross on Bass and Stephen Avelar DeOliveira on lead guitar, the quartet played a rocking 17 song, 90-minute set.
The band played a combination of original compositions and cover songs. She opened up with her cover of the Dropkick Murphy’s “Shipping Up to Boston” and rolled into Pirates, her own song, “Redemption” and then into a song she introduced as a song by a “little band that I love, you may or may not have heard of them, They’re called Metallica”, as the band starts into “Enter Sandman”. Not only is Ally a phenomenal Bagpipe player, but she also played the tin whistles and sang lead vocals during the set. She is backed by a band of top-notch musicians who all were moving around the stage and connecting. After running through some of her own compositions she introduced the most mellow song of the set, a cover and her interpretation of Kate Rusby’s song, “High on a Hill”. She then spoke about the next new yet to be named song, she simply calls now, “The New Song”.
The show ended with the band doing a medley of their favorite songs which included “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns & Roses and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Freebird”. Ending the show with “one last song and no encore, we are finished after this song” said Ally as people in the crowd could be heard yelling for 2 more or 3 more songs (a traditional number for an encore. True to her word Ally and the band ended their 17-song set with “Iridium”.
Opening the show was Arizona based singer Aurelia Anne Cohen. Cohen played a 45-minute set of original tunes. She had the band warmed up for Ally the Piper to take the stage.
