A Bowie Celebration” arrived at Irving Plaza in NYC March 5th and played to a packed house. The band is stellar, featuring an array of Bowie alums including Mike Garson on piano, Earl Slick on guitar, and Carmine Rojas on bass. They were joined by Bernard Fowler (Rolling Stones) on vocals, Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan band) on guitar and vocals, Corey Glover (In Living Colour) on vocals, and Lee John (Earl Slick’s son) on drums.
Special guests at the New York show included Lisa Fischer (Grand Baton, formerly with the Rolling Stones) and Vernon Reid (In Living Colour) on guitar, Tim Ries (Rolling Stones) on saxophone, and Jeff Slate (Jeff Slate and Friends, Slick & Slate) on backing vocals.
The show features both hits and lesser-known deep cuts by David Bowie. The talented band makes every song their own while preserving everything they loved when they worked with the legend.
