Often when people come to Cuba for the first time, their experience is limited to the “surface”—the popular sites, engaging with the Cubans they meet in tourist areas, photographing the exterior Cuba (including the colors, cars, and people they see on the streets), etc. While Cuba is a visual paradise, and the popular sites are worth seeing, the Cuban people are incredible; We think it’s worth taking your finger off the shutter for a moment to get beneath the surface.  And you’ll make much better photographs as a result! Our aim is to make this trip as intimate as possible, introducing you to our Cuban friends from all different parts of Cuban culture. They’re excited to meet you!

Our trip begins at the airport, where our group will board a flight to Cuba. Upon arrival, a driver will take us to our casa particular (Cuban bed & breakfast) to check in and meet the Cuban family who will be hosting us. We will all be staying in the same house. A group dinner will follow that evening at a wonderful, local Cuban restaurant.

The next morning we’ll start our adventures in Havana. We will spend the week in Havana with day trips to spots with a lot of photographic opportunities. We will see popular sights as well as travel off the beaten path, interacting with locals as often as possible.

The trip will be limited to 10 people. This small group size will allow for flexibility and we can tailor the trip to our participants.

Requirements and Equipment Needs: You must sign up in advance. Prior knowledge of photography is not necessary. The only thing you will need is a digital camera, chargers and lots of memory card space!
